When one is diagnosed with Melanoma, a biopsy will be done first to determine what stage the disease is in. If you have a very small melanoma, the doctor may be able to remove it all during this biopsy because it made me very thin and easy to withdraw. If your doctor is able to do this, then you will not have to worry about going further with the other treatments below. If all of the tumor is not wipe out during this time, then surgery more than likely will be the next choice to remove the rest of the remaining tumor. This is why early detection is the best protection.

Surgery is usually the primary treatment for Melanoma especially if you are in the early stage. With this kind of treatment, the tumor is removed and any remaining cancerous cells around the tissues. The surgery will help to make sure there's no more cancer left. This kind of treatment is also use to removed any lymph nodes that made be cancerous too. Although this type of procedure is great in removing a tumor or lymph node, it is not very potent when it comes to controlling this type of cancer from spreading to other parts of your body. This is where the other treatments below come into play.

Radiation Therapy is what helps to kill if there are are any remaining cancer cells left and to help them from growing further. This is also used on cancer cells that come back. The way that this type of treatment is given will depend on the stage of the cancer. The radiation will help to shrink the tumor and control the melanoma if it has spread to other parts of your body.

Immunotherapy(or Biologic Therapy) will help to build your immune system so you can better fight off this cancer. This therapy is very effective in attacking any re-ocurrences of this disease. This therapy is usually used along with other cancer treatments to give your body a boost. This will help to stimulate your immune system to work harder to protect you from this infection. These are the healing cures that will be used when it comes to treatment for Melanoma. Researchers are working on new methods that will soon be available to remedy this type of cancer.

I know it has not been easy for one to live with this disease. And by having the support of others and their families who are living with this condition as well, can make all the difference in the world.
